When you are submitting your resume, there is always a proper way to do it. It is just not like sending the resume just like any other mail. In fact any official mails you send must be in a way which shows your sincerity towards the receiver.

A good cover letter is a kind of introduction to the mail, referencing to the job post and you can also put some briefs like your education and experience in it. Think of it as the first point of contact between you and the employer.

There are some important points which you should remember.  Many people just copy everything from internet. This may be the easy route but it can leave a bad impression on your part. An employer may be receiving a lot of applications in a day and there is a good chance that some of them will have exactly same letters. You don’t have to be the part of crowd.
Always be precise and write naturally without making any vague statements. You should also address the letter to the person who will be hiring you.
